Mamba Forever | RIP KB824
I was about to post pics from a recent wedding but like millions around the world today, I haven’t been able to shake the sadness of the lose of Kobe, his daughter Gigi, and the others onboard the helicopter flying to Thousand Oaks.
You don’t have to be a Laker fan or even a basketball fan to know who Kobe Bryant was. Heck, I’m not even really a basketball fan and haven’t been since MJ retired, but there was always something special about Kobe. His drive, determination, and work-ethic (aka the Mamba Mentality) to be the best he could be, all mixed with his god-given hooping skills made him a generational talent that no matter what sport you played, or career field you were in, it was something to admire and be inspired by. Kobe was invincible and hearing of his passing just has me at a loss for words. Part of me is still waiting to hear that he somehow survived the crash and saved everyone onboard with him. His death is just so surreal. There will never be another person like Kobe and it’s heartbreaking to think we also lost the closest thing to Kobe 2.0 in Gigi. They both had so much life to live and its tragic that their lives were cut so damn short.
Out of all the accomplishments in Kobe’s life, I think his greatest accomplishment is showing us it’s ok to make mistakes, inspiring us to live life fearlessly and to take the last shot, even if you miss it. So thank you, Kobe for everything. Your legacy will live forever.
